I just changed my Windows password for Windows 7. The server is listed as pop. The password is shown as a string of asterisks. Now I have to go into a file in outlook that has the name of my gmail account then go into the inbox to pull down the latest emails.

Since I changed my Windows password today, I can not pull down new emails and I keep getting the pop-up box described in the first paragraph every 10 seconds or so. I cancel it but it always comes back.

The network that my PC was on when I set up outlook has gone away and i have a new wireless network in my home for my PC and my Laptop. However I have never established a password for the new network. Also I don’t remember the password for the old network. My question is – how can i stop getting the “Enter Network Password” pop-up and start pulling down my emails again?

I would like to do this with IMAP, so that both the PC and the Laptop on the home network can independently pull down emails from gmail to both machines simultaneously. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Windows 7: 1. Close Outlook.

Click Start. In the search box enter “Credential”. You will then see Credential Manager. Select Credential Manager. Under Generic Credentials, you will most likely see an entry that has Outlook in the name.

Delete it. In fact, you can delete all the entries in Generic Credentials if you like. Close the Credential Manager window and open Microsoft Outlook. If it asks for a password, enter the password and check for it to remember the password. A new entry will be created in the credential vault with your latest login and password. Problem fixed. The problem for us has been that the saved password in the credential vault file doesn’t appear to work anymore especially if we’ve changed the password recently so by deleting it, another credential will be created the next time you log into Outlook with your latest password.
